On July 18-19, 2026, the 20^th Scientific Research Conference of the School of Life Sciences was held in Yuejin Building on the Xiang'an Campus. The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Professor Huang Xi, the Vice Dean, and all faculty members of the school attended the conference.

At the beginning of the meeting, Professor Deng Xianming, the Dean of the school, presented the annual work report of the school. The report reviewed the achievements of various work of the school during the "14^th Five-Year Plan" period and introduced the progress of a series of major special projects. He pointed out that in the first year of the "15^th Five-Year Plan", the school will unite its efforts and work diligently to write a new chapter of high-quality development.

This conference has specially invited several renowned experts from both inside and outside the university to deliver keynote speeches, sharing academic frontiers and cross-disciplinary innovative research achievements.

CAS Member and Professor Lin Shengcai gave a report on "The Significance of Diet Perception Pathways". Professor Zhou Dawang gave a report on "The Initiation of Liver Cancer and the Immune Microenvironment".

During the conference report session, many teachers also shared their new progress and achievements in scientific research around research directions such as neural repair, tumor metabolism, tumor immunity, biological manufacturing, and disease intervention. The atmosphere was lively, and there were enthusiastic interactive questions.

As an annual landmark academic brand event of the college, the scientific research conference, after 20 years of accumulation, has become an important platform for the school to exchange cutting-edge research achievements and discuss the blueprint for discipline development.
